Installing Boxed Video Turnstile Modules

The boxed units are designed for small installations monitoring just a few doorways. The simplest set up is when just one doorway is being watched. In this case your boxed unit can both detect people and log counts. It is thus called a Logging Video Turnstile or LVT.

  1. Connect a power supply to the 12 V Power In socket. You only need connect a power supply to one unit as it provides power enough for any linked units and cameras.
  2. Each Logging unit can also log counts from up to 15 non-logging boxes (VTs). So for two doorways you would connect your LVT to a VT. Use the ribbon cable to link the two units via the large sockets on the back panels. For more doorways keep linking the VT boxes with the ribbon cables.
  3. Optionally connect a television monitor to the VT unit's Video socket. This helps you make sure that people are being counted correctly.
  4. Connect the Video Turnstile logger to the computer. How you do this depends on the type of communications you have chosen: RS232, RS485, Ethernet or modem.
  5. Create a site with the VT Setup software.
  6. Connect the CCTV camera to the VT unit.
