Connecting the Video Turnstile Logger to the PC via RS232

RS232 9-pin plugAn RS232 plug has 9-pins. It will be clearly labelled on the rack-based Logger, and on the back panel of a boxed Logger.

  1. Use the RS232 cable provided to connect the Logger to the PC's COM port.
  2. Tell the Software about your RS232 Link
    1. Make sure your Video Turnstile units are switched on.
    2. From the Windows Start menu, choose the Windmill 6.0 program group then select VT Setup.
    3. Choose the Unit Select tab.
    4. Select RS232/485 or Modem.

    5. Enter the number of the COM port to which the LVT is connected.
    6. Click the Connect button. This closes any existing communications link and opens a new one using the port specified.

You are now ready to use the VT Setup software to create a site.
