Viewing the Camera Picture on a Television Monitor
It helps when you are setting up the Video Turnstile system to connect the CCTV camera to a television or a frame grabber. This lets you view the counting zone and verify that people are being counted correctly. Do this with the VT Setup software.
- Connect the video out on the VT or LVT to the video in on the TV screen.
- Connect the video lead to the VT unit and to the camera and then connect the power to the VT unit.
- Check the lights on the VT unit come on, and the up and down lights go off.
- Tune the channel to view the audiovisual channel, which is the channel used to watch the video.
- Check the picture from the camera.
- Make sure that the doors do not open all the way across the zone.
- For cameras covering nearby entrances make sure the zone does not overlap, or people may be counted twice.
- For cameras covering a wider entrance where several cameras are used make sure the zones overlap on the edges
- If you haven't yet done so, in the VT Setup software connect to a site in the Unit Select tab.
- Go to the Logger Setup tab and choose the controlling Logger from the Unit Address list.
- Select the VT setup tab. More tabs appear.
- In the Select VT tab check the Read Settings on address selection box then choose a VT unit from the list of those connected to your Logger. (To check you have the correct VT unit, click the "Flash Up/Down on this VT" button. The unit's count lights will flash.)
- Select the Camera/Video Out tab. Make sure your selected VT unit is ticked to show that it is connected to a video output. You can view up to four video pictures at once (and thus up to four monitors showing four different entrances). In each rack system there is a module with four video outputs: A, B, C and D. Connect the appropriate video output to your monitor.
- Click the Send to VT Units button.
