Setting the Video Format: CCIR, PAL, EIA or NTSC
Two frame rates are used for different camera types: 60 frames per second for EIA (or NTSC for colour), and 50 frames per second for the European CCIR (or PAL for colour). You need to tell the VT Setup software which you are using.
- If you haven't yet done so, in the VT Setup software connect to a site in the Unit Select tab.
- Go to the Logger Setup tab and choose the controlling Logger from the Unit Address list.
- Select the VT setup tab. More tabs appear.
- Identify the VT unit that is connected to the camera, and choose its address in the Select VT tab. (To check you have the correct VT module, click the Flash Up/Down on this VT button. The module's count lights will flash three times.)
- Select the Zone tab (shown in the picture below).
- Select the TV format.
- Click the Apply to VT button.
- Because of the different number of lines in the picture for the two formats, the counting zone size will change when a different format is selected. If you have previously set the position and size of the zone, the size of people, the following-on settings etc, you will now need to adjust them.
